XM Radio In the Miata
If you cant find what you want... Make it yourself!
I wanted to install my XM receiver so I can actually see the thing while driving, but have it in a stable position, and readily easy to remove for when I leave the vehicle.

The vent mount sucked ass. I had that on for a day and I got tired of the receiver flopping around on me on turns.

I then set off in search to find a real permanant mount for my receiver...

I went to Home Depot.

Mounting points
As you can see, using this hurrican strap has left me with four holes facing front, so that I can mount my receiver however I choose. Pretty sweet.
I used a simpson Strong Tie connector

I used one of the smaller hurricane twist straps, and bent it twice, so I could get a flat surface toward the dash, and a flat surface toward the cockpit.

The screw hole I used to mount the strong-tie had to be widened just a smidge for the screw used in the miata to fit.

Thanks Simpson and Ace!
I used a small machine screw and nut to mount the xm cradle to the simpson strap, and voila!
